Art Deco Festival 2016 – Napier, New Zealand
This spectacular 4-day festival celebrates Napier’s many Art Deco buildings along with pre-war vehicles, fashions, music and more. Napier suffered a massive earthquake in 1931 which devastated the town and killing over 250 people. The town was rebuilt in the new style of the period (mid 1930’s) – Art Deco. Many of the buildings remain making the town very special. Here are 582 photos showcasing the event in February of 2016.

Goodguys 9th Great Northwest Nationals 2010 – Spokane, Washington
I was able to attend this event with my good friend Russell Dirks who attends every year and lives only 20 miles away, just over the border in Post Falls, Idaho. Five minutes from Russell’s home, the Hot Rod Cafe hosted a great cruise night to open the event. Then off to Spokane Fairgrounds to enjoy a typical high quality Goodguys event which draws great cars from far & wide. Here are 234 photos for you to enjoy.

Cruisin’ Nationals 2010 – Santa Maria, California
Hosted by West Coast Kustoms, this event is THE premiere kustom car event in the USA. I decided at short notice to fly over from Oz for a 4-day trip just for this event. My mate Larry Cricelli said “yes” almost immediately when asked to come with me! What a blast we had! All the custom gurus attend (Gene Winfield, George Barris, Bill Hines, John D’Agostino & Richard Zocchi). You NEED to go! 576 photos here!

Bombs at Cruisin’ Nats 2010, Santa Maria CA
A ‘bomb’ is a ‘fat fendered’ pre-1954 automobile, usually of round or curvy bodystyle. A bomba is usually refered to as a lowrider and is the earliest style within the lowrider scene, showing the ‘roots’ of the movement. Low ‘n’ slow is the motto, and ‘style’ is king. The ‘Viejitos’ club is the worlds largest, with many chapters in various countries (incl Adelaide, Sth Australia).

12th Annual California Hot Rod Reunion 2003 – Famosa Raceway
Gary Salau invited me to this iconic event for a quick 3-wk trip. If you like traditional race cars, hot rods & customs, this is for you. On the final day of the event, my friend Phil Stroud insisted I drive his ’32 roadster (black, fenderless, 4-carb 392 hemi, ETIIIs & 10-spokes wheels) the 20 miles back to Bakersfield. Did I accept……? 452 photos.
